Protection Class IP69K
The IP69K protection class was developed for high-pressure jet cleaning at high temperatures. The code number “6” stands for protection against the invasion of dust, while the number “9” stands for protection during high-pressure cleaning at a short distance. IP69K was introduced in 1993 and is based on the DIN40050-9 standard. This was originally developed to protect motor vehicles from the invasion of dust, dirt, and hot water jets. The latest version of the IEC60529 standard only refers to IP69 (IP69K = IP69).
