1.1.1 How is the active power “P” of a 400V aluminium motor calculated
For Example:
A 400 volt three-phase standard motor has a rated current of 25.18 amperes and a cos φ of 0.86. What is the effective electrical power resulting from these specifications?
P = U x I x cos φ x √3
P = 400 V x 25.18 A x 0.86 x √3
P = 15.003 kW or 15 kW
Measuring Units:
Active Power P = Kilowatts [kW]
Voltage U = Volt [V]
Current I = Ampere [A]
Cos φ = without measuring unit
√3 or 1.73 = without measuring unit
