Ein Beispiel:

Ein 4,0 kW Drehstrommotor (oder auch 400V Elektromotor) hat eine Scheinleistung von 4,7 kVA.
Welcher Wirkleistungsfaktor cos phi ergibt sich aus diesen Angaben? 

cos φ = P / S
cos φ = 4,0kW / 4,7kVA
cos φ = 0,851

 

Maßeinheiten:  

Wirkleistung        P = Kilowatt  [kW]
Scheinleistung    S = Kilovoltampere [KVA]
cos φ                       = keine Maßeinheit
